The Sergeant Preston Yukon King
Run, in its 33rd year, is known as one of the oldest winter races in the
country. This favorite running event for die-hard runners in West
Michigan, is a fund-raiser for the North Muskegon Athletic Booster Club.
The Sergeant Preston TV character from the 1950s was a
Royal Canadian Mountie who brought criminals to justice with the help of
his husky dog named King. On several occasions, the Sergeant Preston
character, in full uniform, with his dog King, has shown up to start the
race! |
